Bass and Vocals
Sreve Wayne Bortner honed his chops in the honky-tonks of the Texas Hill Country. After relocating to Seattle in 1993 he joined the Cyclones, a blues band born on the jam scene, where he met up with guitarist "Hurricane" Herb Neff. Together they went on to form The Bottomfeeders. His energetic stage presence, eclectic song selection, in-the-pocket bass work and soulful singing make for an entertaining and un-orthodox blend of the blues, country, rock, and roots music. In addition to fronting bands, from Top Forty pop, to Alt-Country, to straight ahead Blues. He is still playing the Honky-Tonks and road houses he loves, anywhere roots music can be found.

Music has been a major part of my life. Started in bands in the sixth grade, and has yet to end. As a Native of Seattle, I've seen lots of changes in the local seen over the years. But in Clubs and small ally doors the sound of Root music will always ring.......
